Depression Counseling
The studies have time and again proved that effective way out from depression needs a combination of counseling as well medication. But, it has also been demonstrated that medication alone badly fail to revive patients mentally. It appears the elixir for depression is basically counseling while the medications like the nerve depressants, largely help in relaxation providing soothing effect. Depression counseling kills the cause, the medication suppress the tense feeling. This doesn't means ruling out the role of medication altogether for treating the depression. The efficacy of the medication is also largely dependent upon endogenous factors of biological response.
However, many individuals suffer from depression historically. In such cases the root cause is endogenous biological factors. Medication alone can help to provide the relief.
It is seen that sometimes the medications fail to get desired response of coming out of depressive mental state. To tackle this particular situation specific counseling called cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is helpful.
Days in the youth are crowded with ambitions and golden dreams. The mental fall down is as swift and deep down to the hell as are the sky rocketing dreams. Thus the days are most difficult ones for a depressed youth. Depression causes a feeling of seclusion and persistent fear of being dejected. The days are tortured enough to get pulled back in most of the endeavors. The other symptoms of this disorder are also feeling lethargy accompanied by the body aches. The suicidal tendencies are quite common among the youths. The feeling of committed guilt and use of drug add to the causes.
The neurologists normally work in association with the counselors to get full benefit of the therapeutic procedures. This manages the process safely with a two way communication to settle the mental disturbances effectively.
One must understand that the process of depression counseling is backed by professionalism. There are many who pose to be experts in counseling taking support of promotional means. Depression should not be neglected to just allow letting it pass-by on its own. The problem to a child may turn severe may turn out to get into worst ends. It is thus advised that the problem of the youth must be taken up seriously and fast, before it causes a significant damage.

Breaking news from the BBC -Testosterone link to aggression ‘all in the mind’ Work in Nature magazine suggests the mind can win over hormones… Testosterone induces anti-social behaviour in humans, but only because of our own prejudices about its effect rather than its biological activity, suggest the authors. The researchers, led by Ernst Fehr of the University of Zurich, Switzerland, said the results suggested a case of “mind over matter” with the brain overriding body chemistry. “Whereas other animals may be predominantly under the influence of biological factors such as hormones, biology seems to exert less control over human behaviour,” they said. Phew, that’s a relief – for a minute back there I was worried we didn’t have free will. But look a little closer at the study, and it turns out that all is not as it seems. The experiment (Eisenegger et al) involved giving healthy women 0.5 mg testosterone, or placebo, in a randomized double-blind manner, and then getting them to take…
1. I worked in mental health since 1987 and I know of numerous instances where someone who had schizophrenia didn't show symptoms until after a certain traumatic event in their lives. It is a typical part of treatment to ask about family history and many people with mental illness have relatives with mental illness. I have also noticed that a lot of people with serious mental illness had chaotic childhoods with history of abuse and proverty. In addition, it is fairly common for people in the military to develop signs of mental illness after combat experiences.
2. Psychiatrists are interested in family history. If one family member with mental illness responded well to a certain treatment, it could be taken as a clue to what might work for another person from the same family. If the patient is being seen by a counselor, they are likely to discuss how the patient felt about their upbringing and certain events in their lives.

Liberals may be of the opinion that
the US government is simply a puppet in the hands of a section of people who have a lot of money/power and they simply want to enhance it and use it with out bothering about the majority welfare.
Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan, Iraq…….it extends forward and backward with time for nearly a century….Those in power say that Open free MARKET is the source of strength of American economy. In actual practice it is the monopoly corporate giants who make every one else puppets. Democracy is made a mockery because of the huge money involved and controlled by a sharp minority.
What the Liberals don't realize is that still there is scope for correction and improvement, available not so much elsewhere.
Most to all collages whouldn't care if your child seeks mental health counseling–they just care how smart your child is and how willing they are to learn. You know, Like most schools. And if they do happen to look into that, they shouldn't make a big deal because, well–she DID(is) get(ting) help, right? So they wouldn't have to worry about unusual mental breakdowns that would effect her work.
It is illegal for Dr.'s to make money by writing a drug. They do get lunches to discuss the mechanism of action of drugs and patient types, but the FDA is very good at regulating what goes on between Dr's and drug companies. Sometimes medication really helps people but I agree that there is a growing dependence on medications, not just for depression, but all disease states. Of coarse pharmaceutical companies push their medications (even to you on television every day) but this is a society where everyone wants a quick fix so you can't just blame the big drug companies. People need to be willing to try alternative remedies.
