Bertil Hjert asked:
Agoraphobia is a very common anxiety disorder. It affects roughly 1 in 20 Americans in varying forms and degrees. The only disorder more common is alcoholism. This type of anxiety is fear based. You are afraid that you will be caught in a situation where it will be difficult or embarrassing to leave quickly if you have a panic attack.
Agoraphobia and panic attacks are really necessary companions because it really boils down to being afraid of attacks.
It is a condition that usually develops following panic. Since the panic was so frightening and made you so anxious you avoid situations that you associate with the potential to cause another attack.
Avoidance becomes a way of life and fear your middle name. People suffering from agoraphobia tend to avoid situations where escape would be difficult or embarrassing in the event of a panic attack.
For example, sufferers tend to avoid grocery stores, department stores and restaurants. They also don´t like confined spaces like tunnels, tents, buses, subways, bridges or even the hair dresser´s chair. Being at home alone can also be a great source of worry because who would help you if you had an attack?
Agoraphobia is a fear based phobia that can severely limit your travel and associations with other people. It can have an extremely damaging effect on your life and can continue to spiral out of control. Of course, becoming a recluse and a shut in, afraid to venture out of your home is a worst case scenario.
There are many stages well before this and the disorder is treatable. You can help yourself, control the attacks and reduce or eliminate it.
The two basic criteria for diagnosis are:
1. You have anxiety about being in places or situations that it is either difficult or embarrassing to leave or it would be difficult to get help if you had panic symptoms strike.
2. You avoid places or situations where you are afraid you might have an attack or experience significant distress and anxiety.
The concept of avoidance is the crucial component in a diagnosis. You may also have panic disorder or social phobia, which have common characteristics.
Agoraphobia is a particularly hard anxiety based problem to deal with because it goes to the heart of a person´s concern for their safety and security. With this disorder, particularly in more severe cases, it is hard to feel safe anywhere.
Elevators, theaters, sporting events, lines, the subway, the bus, shopping malls, airplanes, bridges, these all become problematic and thus, you don´t go there. You name it, you feel unsafe there, and you worry about a panic attack overtaking you.
What if you have a panic attack and no one is there to help you? Or worse, what if you have an attack and you have people staring at you, or you have to ask someone for help? That´s just too embarrassing!

Wondering how things early in tha day can affect u for tha rest of tha day and have u in a bad mood..life is funny that way
Well, have you asked her why she thinks it's gross? Tell her that different cultures have been stretching their lobes for centuries. It's a kind of rite of passage in a way. Old people with huge, thick lobes are considered very wise because they had enough patience and were able to stretch slow enough that their ears never broke and looked really good.
Societies all over the world have rites of passage that involve body modification. Whether it be the mursi tribes where women have lip plates, or the native americans that do the sundance (dancing and pulling against a hook in their back until it ends up ripping out).
There are those that believe (Main name for research: Fakir Musafar) that the reason so many young men and women in America cut themselves is because they're missing that rite of passage with their bodies.
Anyway, do your research if you haven't. Tell her you know how to take care of them and keep them healthy, and show her how big an 8/6g is. Tell her it will heal right back up to normal if you wish to take them out some time later on.
Right now, she is your boss. I know it sucks, but if you respect your mom, you'll wait until you're 18 if you can't convince her.
I'm sure that's exactly what you want to hear isnt it?
i agree with you that those bands make/made real thrash but in my opinion there are lots of other bands which make/made real thrash, too. in my opinion slayer make/made real thrash – if you like tom’s voice or not… for example: i don’t like the voice from the singer overkill (i forgot his name…) but thei’re still a real thrash metal band^^

Far: Another quiet night at Steven’s last night. We stayed up late reading the Bible.
well, if it were the whole world- then may be we would rediscover appreciation for basic life- although we would probaly all be cranky because we would be either too hot or cold or broke because the cost of gas and other fuels would skyrocket. May be we would use windmill power to generate- which I would prefer due it it's environmentally friendly and limitiless supply of energy.
Find something else to do!
Go to a movie, a play, a musem, a dinasaur dig, a coffeehouse and meet people. Take a computer class.
Attend a church, do volunteer work, but stay away from the television for at least 20 hours daily.
They do collapse, Gerbils LOVE to dig, and you should let them fulfil this natural activity by providing a deep layer of bedding. Care must be taken so that these tunnels cannot collapse, so always press the bedding down well, and hiding mugs and mixing in hay can help give support to the tunnels.
NOTE Gerbils have been known to dig compulsively, which is when they constantly dig at the corners of their cage, and to avoid this, research has shown that gerbils should have a tunnel leading to a nest area. I would recommend using a wooden nesting box with a cardboard tube shoved through the hole into the nestbox.
I'm going to make a lot of money out of this.
In my back garden I have dug a hole 15 miles deep.
Every day I climb down the ladder (have you got any idea how many rungs there are on a 15 miles ladder? A flippin' lot, that's how many – ) and stand at the bottom of my hole.
Then, everytime someone comes burrowing their way through – I charged them a toll fee.
Good idea, eh?
No one has come through yet – but they will, and I'll be rich. Rich I tell you.
In the meantime – anybody want a big pile of earth?
No siree! I have done so many sins in my life and I ain't the religious type of guy either.. No way I can be a saint.
