Panic Disorder Agoraphobia
While there are many different aspects related to Panic Disorder Agoraphobia becomes a topic that deserves some attention. Before we get into the potential causes it would be helpful to know what agoraphobia is.
When we find ourselves in certain situations that we are unable or unlikely to get help in the event of a panic attack, it can cause much fear in and of itself. This also goes the same for scenarios where we may be in large or open public areas and get that fear of being embarrassed or having difficulty escaping the situation.
These fears as a result can lead to direct and intentional avoidance of such places. It could be anything ranging from Theaters, public transportation, any sort of restaurant, and social gathering of sorts. These things are essentially agoraphobia.
How does Panic Disorder Agoraphobia, and the above mentioned tie into how it is caused?
Panic Disorder can of course, cause panic attacks. These are dreadful experiences of extreme and intense fear that will often leave a lasting impression on our mind. One of the big causes of Agoraphobia starts by having an attack.
The attack itself can cause us to worry about having another one. Thoughts such as, what happens if this occurs in a restaurant, on a bus, or a shopping mall. These thoughts can grow in terms of fear and continually do so to the point we actively try to avoid such places so such a situation does not happen in the first place.
Another major cause is when a panic attack happens, we may recall the type of situation, and our surroundings at the time. When we find ourselves in such a situation, the memories of the experiences we had remain very vivid and can bring about fear and anxiety. This can lead to an attack, and it can also produce fear just thinking about being in such situations. Avoiding these things becomes a natural response to avoid having to potentially deal with them.

Shared 40 times. Tagged web (2522) . I’m an addict. You already knew that, didn’t you? After all, I’m just about to pass my 30,000th Tweet and on Facebook I have more than 10,000 friends and on Foursquare I follow more than 3,000 people (about 1% of their user base as just reported). I’m not the only addict, though. On Google there are 402,000 results for “social media addiction.” Someone even made a rap video about social media addiction. In my journey through these systems, I’ve been seeing how each gives incentives to their users. For instance, on Foursquare every time I check in it gives me points. If I check in a new place that it didn’t know about, it gives me a ton of points. It is rewarding my behavior. This “reward” turns very addictive. Twitter, on the other hand, has its own incentive system. It puts all sorts of things in your face, like how…

I suffered with agoraphobia for 12 years, from my early 20's into my mid 30's. The best years of a person's life, completely lost. I became suicidal, was diagnosed with stage IV clinical depression and was nearly committed to a psychiatric institution. I found a therapist who at that time was just beginning to use a "new" treatment called Cognitive Therapy. It literally saved my life.
It takes some effort and you have to work at it even though you don't feel like it, but it is worth it. It provided me the coping mechanisms to deal with the panic disorder and these tools still work over 20 years later.
I know panic attacks can come out of nowhere and it won't stop that from happening, but having learned how to recognize them before they take over, they are gone in an instant.
My success story, when I knew I could handle this? I hadn't had a panic attack in several years. I was sitting on the edge of my bed, tying my shoes to go out for a walk (unheard of in the old days) and I felt that sudden overwhelming feeling. It pissed me off. I stopped and said right out loud, "Okay, I know what you are. BRING IT ON!" And the panic attack stopped right there.
They rarely occur any more. Years can go by. I lived with that demon for too long. It can be sneaky, but I'm ready. As soon as I say, "Hit me with your best shot," it goes away.
Cognitive therapy. Do it.

slowing approach your fear, like my mom is afraid of heights, so by going slowly, taking things one at a time she was able to go higher.
sometimes people are afraid of things because of something that happened in their child hood, like one of my friends moms was always afraid of grates on sidewalks, or heating vents on the floor. shed always hop over them or walk around. later in her life she found out that when she was a child she has burned her feet on a heating vent and ever since then had avoided anything that resembled them. once she found out what caused her fear she overcame it. so finding the source of the fear can lead to overcoming the fear.
