Many people who have had to deal with an anxiety attack, will quickly be able to recognize the physical symptoms associated with this condition. The first sign that you are having attack will be when you start to breath much more heavily, plus you begin to sweat. Other physical symptoms of an attack, include chest pains, numbness to the bodies extremities and they shake uncontrollably. When a person is having an attack they may find that they only suffer from one or two of the physical symptoms of an anxiety attack, whilst others will suffer from all of those that we have mentioned.

--- Once again you say secrets, probably really meanng not being forth coming or honest with each other. Once again we as a human race have the choice to do the right thing, but unfortunately people will be dishonest. Then when someone really outstanding comes along a makes a differance some of us make the choice to follow in their foot steps and become better people.

Okay, first of all, let me come right out and say that I am just completely and totally guessing here. Your best bet would be to go ahead and go to the doctor and get checked out properly. Breathing is nothing to mess around with.

That said, I noticed that you didn't mention feeling short of air or like you are having trouble breathing. If you were doing anything like that, I would say that you could be experiencing asthma. But with asthma, you generally have more symptoms (wheezing, coughing, shortness of air, etc.).

If it is truly just a weird breathing pattern you are experiencing, it is possible you may be experiencing a compensated metabolic acidosis. Metabolic acidosis is sometimes seen with uncontrolled diabetes. The late night junk food could have raised your sugar and put your body in crisis thus setting off the weird breathing. If this is the case, this is considered a medical emergency as diabetic coma can follow. Just one thought.

Of course it is impossible to diagnose anything over the internet, not to mention that I am just a nurse, so I couldn't diagnose anyway. But I can tell you that if you are having trouble regulating your breathing pattern, something is not quite right. Your best bet would be to get yourself to the doctor right away just to be safe.
